Ronan McNamara

Ronan has over twenty years sales and management work experience gained primarily in the Financial Services, Training and IT sectors.

In the Financial Services sector, he worked with IIB Bank and GE Capital International in a business development capacity in start up leasing companies. From 1998 until May 2004, Ronan was employed by IBM Ireland in a sales capacity. His last position there was Territory Software Manager.

Over the past 12 years, Ronan has gained practical experience in the learning and development arena this includes: 

  • The analysis, design, delivery and implementation of a sales training program for an Irish financial services company with 200 sales staff. Sales increased by over 25%.
  • The systematic roll out of a performance management & development systems project for an Irish semi state company. 
  • Part-time Sales Director for an American ITC company which included redesigning the sales systems, processes and training. Sales went up 33% in a declining marketplace during this time.
  • Working as an Associate with the IMI since 2007. Engagements have included programme managing a range of sales, sales management, graduate training and train-the-trainer courses. Ronan has delivered on open and be-spoke courses across any sectors. 
  • Analysing, designing, delivering and evaluating learning and development interventions for companies in the financial, IT, pharmaceutical and SME sectors. 
  • Actively consulting and working with sales leaders with a view to driving individual and team performance. 
  • Consulting, designing, delivering and mentoring on a community based enterprise start-up programe for the last six years. 
  • Developing and managing his own training & consulting organisation since 2004.

His professional passions are learning and performance.

His first book, ‘Personal selling skills for high performance results’ is due for publication in Spring 2010.
