IMI HR Briefing – The Organisation of Your Dreams
In his latest work, Prof Gareth Jones poses the question what would an authentic organisation look like? What would be the Organisation of your Dreams?
At our upcoming IMI HR Briefing Gareth will discuss his new research, and his recent Harvard Business Review article (May 2013). In this work, he and his colleague Rob Goffee have been building on their earlier work on leadership and in this research, they concluded that authenticity was a necessary, but insufficient condition, for effective leadership.
One, rather rational response to this, has been “I’ll be an authentic leader, when I work in an authentic organisation”. So their new work asks “what would an authentic organisation look like?” What would be the “Organisation of your Dreams”?
Their conclusions set a testing agenda for organisations that aspire to be the very best and Prof. Jones will expand on this at our upcoming briefing.
