Dr. Jonathan Westrup is the Programme Director of the Senior Executive Programme at the IMI and also leads and teaches on custom programmes for some of Ireland’s leading companies. He is also Programme Director for the Diploma in Strategy and Innovation. His teaching focus is business strategy with a particular interest in corporate governance and organisational performance. Jonathan also works with management teams in facilitating their strategy process.
Prior to academia, Jonathan worked in the financial services sector with NCB Stockbrokers where at various times he was Head of Fixed Income and Head of Business Development. He played a key role in developing NCB’s very successful bond division, building up its international client base and leading its market-making team.
Jonathan has an MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School and a doctorate in comparative political economy from Boston University. Prior to joining the IMI, he was a Research Fellow at the Institute for International Integration Studies and a lecturer at Trinity College Dublin. He has also taught at Boston University.
