Dr. Simon Boucher is Chief Operating Officer at the Irish Management Institute.
He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (BA Hons in Business Studies & Political Science) and UCC/IMI (Diploma in Executive Coaching). Simon completed a Masters and PhD at Florence’s European University Institute, where his doctoral research examined the leadership styles and effectiveness of political leaders. His principal research interests remain in the areas of leadership development, leadership coaching and enabling peak performance.
In previous roles at IMI, Simon has been Registrar and Head of Graduate Studies. He has directed the IMI’s Master of Business, the Diploma in Management, the High Impact Leadership Programme and Leadership and Motivation. He remains Director of the Diploma in Leadership, and continues to design, direct and deliver customised executive education for Irish and multinational organisations on an international basis.
Simon is a former research fellow at Trinity’s College Dublin’s Institute for International Integration Studies (IIIS) and is the former lecturer in US Politics at Trinity’s Department of Political Science. He continues to collaborate in research at Trinity’s School of Business and delivers leadership development sessions on both the Trinity College and Henley MBA programmes.
Simon has worked internationally as a management consultant with Accenture, for the European Commission in Brussels, and regularly commentates on American political events for TV3. In June 2011 Simon was appointed by the Government to the Judicial Appointments Approval Board, the state body that identifies and informs the Government of individuals suitable for appointment to senior judicial office.
