The IMI Diploma in Cloud Strategy is an exciting new addition to the suite of IMI Diplomas linking to the Master of Business (MoB) framework.
Cloud computing opens up new ways of doing business. But to leverage any cloud opportunity effectively, a well-informed and rigorously developed cloud strategy is essential.
The IMI Diploma in Cloud Strategy will enable you to evaluate business opportunities presented by cloud-based information systems. You will assess the key organisational and technological challenges of migrating applications and services to an external provider. You will develop a rigorous and practical business case for moving your organisation to the cloud. You will identify and address the overriding strategic issues that your organisation will need to address to take advantage of cloud computing opportunities. You will learn to map a cloud migration path that ensures flexibility as processes evolve over time.
Througout the programme you will have the opportunity to practically apply your learning directly within your organisation. Emphasis is placed upon combining classroom teaching with a creative mix of action learning, class discussion, case study analysis and individual and group activities. You will complete the programme by writing a "Cloud Strategy Blueprint" for your organisation.
By completing the IMI Diploma in Cloud Strategy you will:
Develop a cutting-edge understanding of the cloud computing revolution and the opportunities this presents to modern business
Understand your strategic business model
Evaluate cloud-bases opportunities and assess their relevance to your organisation
Evaluate your business processes to determine which may be best suited to the cloud
Develop a rigorous and practical "Cloud Strategy Blueprint" for your business
Enhance your capability as a contributor to your organisation's management team
The IMI’s Master of Business (MoB) is an innovatively designed framework tailored to accelerate your professional development in a uniquely flexible manner. The MoB allows you to combine ‘credit’ for completing certain IMI courses and ultimately earn an internationally recognised, nationally accredited Master of Business qualification.
The Diploma in Leadership is part of the MoB framework, together with the following Diplomas:
In order to be conferred with a Master of Business qualification, you must: Step 1 - Successfully complete any one of the IMI’s suite of diploma programmes. Step 2 - Successfully complete a second IMI diploma of your choosing. Step 3- Successfully complete a Business Project (15,000 word dissertation). These steps can be completed as quickly as three years, or up to five years – whichever suits your personal, work and learning needs best.
Programme Director - Dr Simon Boucher, IMI Senior Specialist
There are no formal entry criteria. However, this is a demanding programme and suitability of candidates will be assessed at a pre-programme discussion with the programme director. The purpose of the discussion is to ensure a good fit between the candidate and the diploma programme. Several years’ work experience at management level will normally be expected.
Successful participants will be awarded the IMI Diploma in Cloud Strategy.
This qualification is accredited and awarded by University College Cork - National University of Ireland, Cork.
The IMI Diploma in Cloud Strategy is academically equivalent to a Postgraduate Certificate (level 9) Minor Award on the National Framework of Qualifications.
By completing this award, you will also earn one-third of the credits required to be awarded the IMI Master of Business qualification.
Details of the IMI’s full range of post-graduate Diploma programmes are available below under the 'Three Steps to a Master of Business Award' section.
Programme dates are listed in the downloadable brochure.
