Short Course Participants – FAQs
The information below will apply when you enrol on an IMI short course.

A member of our Programme Coordination team will be your main point of contact for the duration of your time here at the IMI and will greet you on each morning.

Programmes normally run from 9.00 – 17.00, unless you have been otherwise informed by your programme administrator.
Location and Parking
Please click here if you are unfamiliar with the location of the IMI. Leave yourself plenty of time for travel and if you are arriving by car; you will find complementary parking within the grounds.
As the IMI is located within a residential area we would ask you to please take care when entering and exiting the grounds.
Is there Bike parking available at IMI?
Bike parking is available in front of Clonard House which is located on our grounds. Bicycles are left at the owner’s risk. IMI does not accept responsibility for any damaged, lost or stolen goods on IMI grounds.
What should I bring on the first day?
Course materials are supplied – right down to the pen and paper. Please bring a calculator for IMI finance courses and a laptop for our Social Selling course. Should you need to bring anything for any other IMI courses you will be advised before the programme.
Are lunches included in IMI programme prices?
The programme fee is inclusive of all meals, coffee and tea. Each lunch sitting offers a wide range of options including hot meals, salads and vegetarian dishes. If you have any other dietary requirements please advise us before the commencement of the programme and we will do all we can to make the appropriate arrangements.
What if I have other requirements?
If you have any other requirements or need for special adjustments, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
Is there a dress code?
Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Some of our participants like to dress casually, others prefer to be more formal – it’s entirely up to you.
What is the daily schedule of an IMI programme?
The compact nature of the programme means that we need to make use of all the time available to maximise your learning opportunity. All programmes start at 9:00 unless otherwise communicated to course participants.
Therefore we ask that you arrive in plenty of time each day for a prompt start. If you arrive early you can avail of the IMI restaurant which is open from 08:00 with a complementary supply of tea, coffee and pastries.
The normal finish time is 17:00 each day.
Is Wifi available on campus?
Yes. IMI offers complimentary wireless internet access to our participants. However, it is worth mentioning that you will maximise the benefit of your participation if you are able to be away from your place of work for the duration of the programme.
If possible, advise colleagues to contact you only if something is urgent. Our experience suggests participants gain and retain more from their studies if they have the chance to discuss and share issues with other participants, rather than phoning the office at every break.
Are courses residential?
No, although we do have accommodation on-campus at the IMI Residence. The Residence is designed to provide the highest level of comfort for the business traveller. What if I am unable to attend as planned?
If you are unable to attend please be aware the following rates will apply to all cancelations and course transfers:
- 10% of the full course fee will be charged on cancellations received up to 15 calendar days of the start date.
- 50% of the full course fee will be charged on cancellations received within 14 calendar days or less of the start date.
- Cancellations on the day of the programme will not be subject to a refund.
- Participants wishing to transfer attendance to a subsequent programme will incur the relevant above cancellation fee plus any increase in course cost.
- Inter-modular transfers (transferring during a programme running over more than one module) is at the discretion of IMI and subject to availability.
- By completing and submitting the course enrolment form you are agreeing to IMI’s terms and conditions. Failure to attend or to inform IMI or your intention to cancel/transfer will forfeit the course fees in their entirety.
Requests to transfer to a different course or subsequent intake must be made in writing to; Programme Advisors, IMI, Sandyford Road, Dublin 16, or by emailing email@example.com.
