IMI Diplomas in Cloud Strategy & Data Business – Information Evening

On 10th September, the IMI will be holding an information evening on their Diploma in Cloud Strategy and Diploma in Data Business at the Marker Hotel, Grand Canal Square, Docklands, Dublin 2. Both diplomas are accredited by University College Cork.
The Diploma in Data Business is endorsed by EMC and SAS and is designed to help participants analyse business data strategy and successfully enhance their organisations’ data practices.
The Diploma in Cloud Strategy helps the participants to identify strategic opportunities arising out of cloud-based business models. Microsoft Ireland is offering €2,000 off the programme fee for the first seven eligible participants. Apply to programmeadvisors@imi.ie for the scholarship.

Dr. Fergal Carton,
Programme Director,
IMI Diploma in Cloud Strategy
Dr. Fergal Carton is the Programme Director for the IMI Diploma in Cloud Strategy, a joint venture between IMI, UCC and Microsoft which focuses on the identification of strategic opportunities arising out of cloud based business models.
At UCC, Fergal is a Senior Researcher at the Financial Services Innovation Centre (FSIC), focusing on the integration of information technologies into business processes for resource visibility, performance control and decision support. His PhD focussed on the impact of enterprise systems integration on managerial decision making. He lectures in enterprise processes, reporting and business performance.
Dr. Tadhg Nagle,

IMI Diploma in Data Business
Tadhg is a lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems (UCC). With a background in Financial Services Tadhg became a Business Analyst Lab Leader in the Digital Enterprise Research Institute, from which he holds a PhD. Focusing on emerging technologies, strategic innovation and disruptive technologies he has published a number of papers in leading international Information Systems conferences and journals. His current focus is on the implementation of Cloud and Big Data technologies with a view to creating real business value.
Dr. David Sammon,

IMI Diploma in Data Business
David is a lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems (UCC). David’s current research interests focus on the areas of conceptual data modelling, master data/information management, theory and theorybuilding, and redesigning organisational routines through mindfulness. David has published extensively in international journals and conferences. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Decision Systems and co-author of the book: “Enterprise Resource Planning Era: Lessons Learned and Issues for the Future (2004)”.
