The Irish Management Institute (IMI) today announced that Yves Morieux, a Senior Partner and Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group, and Jim McGuinness, former Donegal manager and current Performance Consultant to Glasgow Celtic football club, will address its annual National Management Conference. The IMI Conference, proudly sponsored by Eir [formerly known as Eircom], will take place at the IMI Campus in Sandyford, Dublin on Thursday, 8th October 2015.
A senior partner in BCG’s Washington D.C. office and director of the BCG Institute for Organisation, Morieux will talk about his experience and approach to advising big corporations on restructuring their pillars of management to maximise employee motivation and engagement. Following six golden rules, Morieux’s approach, called ‘Smart Simplicity’, encourages employees to cooperate in order to solve long-term problems, maximising engagement through all levels of a company.
McGuinness will draw on his own experience in top-level sports management and sports psychology to talk about his personal leadership insights and the lessons he has learned about developing and managing top talent. McGuinness, who masterminded the Donegal senior football team’s successful All-Ireland campaign of 2012, was appointed as a performance consultant for Scottish soccer giants Glasgow Celtic that same year and supported fellow Irishman, Paul McGinley, in his management of the 2014 Ryder Cup team. He will share his insights with Ireland’s top executives in an interactive and engaging question and answer session.
The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Reinventing Organisations – Rethinking Leadership’ with the focus on how successful organisations are designing their organisations to respond effectively to complexity in the corporate environment and developing new approaches to leadership and collaboration that are fit for purpose in the 21st century.
Speaking ahead of next month’s conference, Simon Boucher, Chief Executive of the Irish Management Institute welcomed the continued support of Eir and said;
“The IMI continues to be at the forefront of management and leadership development in Ireland and so it is fitting that our theme this year seeks to understand how high performing organisations are responding to unprecedented social and economic complexity in order to future-proof themselves. Our stellar line-up of speakers is sure to challenge and inspire delegates.”
Richard Moat, CEO, eircom Group said;
