Funded places available on IMI programmes

IMI has been allocated funding for a number of places on our Professional Diploma programmes. The Professional Diplomas are academically validated and awarded by University College Cork (UCC) and are at level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Please note funded places for Professional Diploma programmes starting Autumn 2020 and Spring 2021 are now full.

Eligibility

Funding is available to participants who fall into the following categories:

Unemployed

Those in receipt of a DEASP payment, for example Jobseekers benefit or the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.

Returners

Those who have been out of the work environment for a number of years due to childcare or other caring obligations with a previous history of employment but may require upskilling, reskilling or cross-skilling to transition back to the workforce.

Employed

Places are available for employed individuals, with priority given to persons employed in any of the following sectors:

Aerospace/ Aviation/ Travel | Agriculture | Architecture, Engineering and Construction | Arts, Entertainment and Cultural | Automotive | Hospitality and Tourism | Manufacturing, specifically Textiles/ Transportation Equipment/ Furniture | Retail | The charity sector | Transport and Logistics

Former self employed

Places are also available to those who were formerly self employed and their business in no longer trading. Again, priority will be given to those who were working in the sectors listed above.

Successful applicants from the employed or formerly self-employed categories will be required to pay 10% of the course fee, i.e. €900.

Recent graduates.

Recent graduates are also eligible to apply for funding under the rules of the Stimulus Fund.  However, recent graduates are unlikely to meet the entry criteria for the Professional Diplomas.

Avail of free or heavily-subsidised postgraduate and higher diploma places with UCC.

Places are available on industry-focused programmes in a broad range of sectors, such as youth work, social policy, coaching, nursing and public health.
