IMI Masterclass 1: The Dark Side of Confidence

IMI Masterclass in association with Zurich.

Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic

Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic is a Professor of Business Psychology at University College London, visiting Professor at Columbia University and CEO of Hogan Assessment Systems.
Shortlisted for the 2015 Thinkers 50 Talent Award, Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic is a prolific author and an international authority in psychological profiling, talent management, and people analytics.
This counter-intuitive Masterclass will explore why confidence is overrated in business and beyond and why the world, and in particular executives, would benefit from being less confident.
It will highlight the negative consequences of mistaking confidence and competence in others especially in talent and hiring decisions, high potential interventions and leadership nominations.
This session combines real-life examples and business-relevant exercises with strong theoretical and scientific evidence: it is designed to challenge participants to reframe how they evaluate talent in themselves and others.
