We often think of technology as driving innovation. However, competitive advantage in most industries is based on people rather than patents. Recently, in various industries, we have witnessed new, disruptive business models emerge that are based on fundamentally different ways in which employees relate to their organisations.
In this talk, we will develop an understanding of the causes and consequences of such innovations, how they offer both threats and opportunities to existing companies, and what may the barriers to change.
