IMI yesterday conferred Life Fellowship on four senior leaders for raising the standard of management practice and for the impact they have had on business in Ireland.

[caption id="attachment_31740" align="alignright" width="698"] Dr Phil Nolan and Cathriona Hallahan with their IMI Life Fellowships[/caption] Cathriona Hallahan, Microsoft Ireland Managing Director, Dr Phil Nolan, former Chairman of Ulster Bank, Siobhán Talbot, Glanbia Group Managing Director, and Stan McCarthy, former Chief Executive at Kerry Group, were all named as IMI Life Fellows – the first time the honour has been awarded since 2002. ‘Life Fellowship is the highest honour bestowed by IMI’ said Terrence O’Rourke, IMI Board Chairman. ‘It is the means through which we publicly recognise and celebrate those who make a truly significant contribution to the practice of management and business leadership in Ireland. In essence, Life Fellows are those that have practiced and fulfil the mission of IMI.’ The 2018 IMI Life Fellows join a prestigious list of ninety nine business leaders and thinkers including T.K Whitaker, Peter Drucker, Peter Sutherland and Gillian Bowler. IMI will again be conferring the honour in the coming years on senior business leaders who have made a significant contribution to the Irish business landscape. .‘I’m very privileged and humbled to join the illustrious list of IMI Fellows’ said Cathriona Hallahan when asked about receiving her life fellowship. ‘It’s particularly special to be recognised by an institution like IMI who know what management and leadership entails.’ [caption id="attachment_31739" align="alignright" width="516"] Michael McNicholas, Stan McCarthy, Siobhán Talbot and Terrence O' Rourke at the IMI Life Fellowship Ceremony[/caption] IMI recently became the first Irish executive education provider to be simultaneously listed on both the Customised and Open global rankings, published by the Financial Times. This global ranking follows the merger with University College Cork in 2016, combining UCC’s expertise, relationships and global reach with IMI’s global ranking, reputation for excellence and business community network to deliver distinctive executive education across Ireland and beyond. ‘It is an honour and a privilege to receive the life fellowship from IMI’ said Siobhán Talbot. ‘I am a huge believer in continuing education and in the opportunities that it opens up. In Glanbia, we have put a lot of focus on developing our leadership and management programmes over the years and the IMI have worked closely with us on this agenda.’ [post_title] => IMI Awards Life Fellowships to Irish Business Leaders [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => open [ping_status] => open [post_password] => [post_name] => imi-awards-life-fellowships-irish-business-leaders [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2019-11-25 13:24:16 [post_modified_gmt] => 2019-11-25 13:24:16 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => https://www.imi.ie/?post_type=post&p=23171 [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => post [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw ) [4] => WP_Post Object ( [ID] => 25363 [post_author] => 146 [post_date] => 2019-04-05 13:49:27 [post_date_gmt] => 2019-04-05 12:49:27 [post_content] => [post_title] => IMI celebrates its first graduation ceremony of 2019 [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => open [ping_status] => open [post_password] => [post_name] => imi-celebrates-first-graduation-ceremony-2019 [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2019-11-25 13:12:45 [post_modified_gmt] => 2019-11-25 13:12:45 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => https://www.imi.ie/?post_type=post&p=25363 [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => post [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw ) [5] => WP_Post Object ( [ID] => 16830 [post_author] => 146 [post_date] => 2016-12-19 13:04:34 [post_date_gmt] => 2016-12-19 13:04:34 [post_content] => [post_title] => Happy Christmas from the IMI [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => closed [ping_status] => closed [post_password] => [post_name] => happy-christmas-imi-2 [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2019-11-25 15:05:44 [post_modified_gmt] => 2019-11-25 15:05:44 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => https://www.imi.ie/?post_type=post&p=16830 [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => post [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw ) [6] => WP_Post Object ( [ID] => 24206 [post_author] => 146 [post_date] => 2018-10-10 16:15:11 [post_date_gmt] => 2018-10-10 15:15:11 [post_content] => [post_title] => Fáilte Ireland Hospitality and Tourism Strategic Management Programme - Open for Applications [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => open [ping_status] => open [post_password] => [post_name] => failte-ireland-hospitality-tourism-strategic-management-programme-open-applications [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2020-01-20 17:27:34 [post_modified_gmt] => 2020-01-20 17:27:34 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => https://www.imi.ie/?post_type=post&p=24206 [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => post [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw ) [7] => WP_Post Object ( [ID] => 23542 [post_author] => 146 [post_date] => 2018-07-10 09:56:08 [post_date_gmt] => 2018-07-10 08:56:08 [post_content] => [post_title] => Graduates Conferred in Strategic Tourism Training Programme [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => open [ping_status] => open [post_password] => [post_name] => graduates-conferred-strategic-tourism-training-programme [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2019-11-25 13:24:54 [post_modified_gmt] => 2019-11-25 13:24:54 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => https://www.imi.ie/?post_type=post&p=23542 [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => post [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw ) )

Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane Announced for National Management Conference

We are pleased to announce that Republic of Ireland Manager Martin O’Neill and assistant manager Roy Keane will address our National Management Conference. The IMI National Management Conference, proudly sponsored by eircom Business Solutions, will take place on Thursday October 9th 2014.

Republic of Ireland Manager Martin O’Neill commented on his involvement in the conference saying; “I am thrilled at the opportunity to speak at the IMI’s National Management Conference next month. The IMI has been the leader in executive education in Ireland for over 60 years and I am really looking forward to the conference in October. If my experience in football can in anyway benefit the top executives in Ireland then I will be extremely pleased.”
O’Neill and Keane will draw on their own experience in top-level soccer to talk about their personal leadership lessons and what they’ve learned about developing and managing top talent.

O’Neill who led the likes of Leicester City and Glasgow Celtic to unrivalled success in his time and Keane who captained both his club Manchester United and country for over seven years will share their insights with Ireland’s top executives in an interactive and engaging session.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Adapt-Align-Achieve’ and more than 300 of Ireland’s top business executives are expected to attend. The conference will explore the challenges facing businesses in today’s increasingly complex and unpredictable world. Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane will be joined by a diverse set of highly regarded speakers who will challenge traditional assumptions about business, organisations and leadership as well as outlining how success can be achieved in the future.

Other speakers at the IMI National Management Conference will include Tim Harford, an award-winning BBC presenter, Financial Times columnist and bestselling author; Nilofer Merchant, Silicon Valley entrepreneur and consultant to top Fortune 500 companies; and Shane O’Mara, Professor of Experimental Brain Research at Trinity College and Director of the Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience.
